Slab City, CA
Slab City is known for Salvation Mountain, but there are other great large scale sculptures there, including the Slab City Skatepark.
There's a variety of concrete ramps and transition built into this Olympic swimming pool. There are lots of wooden ramps and various obstacles brought in.
The centerpiece is a huge quarter to bank over a bombed out car.
People bring dirt bikes into the pool. In one corner there's a dirt ramp, but there are also signs throughout that indicate to not ride dirt bies on the wooden ramp, as well as a "No bikis" sign.
The park extends out of the pool, with various concrete ramps built into a house/hang out zone, including (physically) tight halfpipes out back.
Slab City feels like if a commune of schizophrenic engineers had a collective 20 year-long fever dream / amphetamine-induced fugue state in the desert. Its skatepark is no different. This park is incredible and a ton of fun to skate.
